This Sunday, November 10th, 2024, we invite residents to come together and pay their respects at Leyburn’s Remembrance Sunday service.

The ceremony will begin at 10:45 AM in the Market Place, with civic dignitaries, including the Deputy Lord Lieutenant of North Yorkshire, Mayor, councillors, service personnel, veterans, the Royal British Legion, youth organisations and schools joining in the solemn occasion.

The service, led by Rev’d Stephen Hanscombe, will include a two-minute silence and wreath-laying at the War Memorial to honor those who served.

Following the ceremony, a Remembrance Service will take place at St. Matthew’s Church. You can download the Remembrance Day Order of Service 2024 here..

🚧 Road Closures: To ensure the safety of all participants, there will be road closures from 10:45 AM for the duration of the service and parade to St. Matthew’s Church. The affected roads include:

  • A684 & A6108
  • Railway Street, from the mini roundabout at the Brentwood junction
