Leyburn is proud to host the finish of Stage 4 of the Lloyds Tour of Britain Men on Saturday 5 September 2026. As preparations continue for this prestigious national sporting event, residents and visitors are advised to be aware of the road closures, access arrangements and parking provisions that will be in place throughout the day. Road Closures
To accommodate the race finish, Market Place, Harmby Road and Railway Street will be closed from 6.00am until 7.00pm on Saturday 5 September 2026.
Parking suspensions along the race route will be in force from 8.00pm on Friday 4 September until the race has passed. Residents and visitors are asked not to park on the race route during this period.
Additional road closures will affect:
- A684 Middleham Road (from Brentwood Junction to the mini-roundabout at the Bolton Arms/Grove Square)
- A6108 (from Grove Square to the Bolton Arms, Wensley Road)
These roads will be closed between 1.30pm and 4.30pm.
In addition, a rolling road closure will operate on the A6108 Middleham Road between approximately 2.15pm and 3.45pm, with traffic held for up to 30 minutes while the race passes through.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to refer to the official road closure maps and plan any necessary journeys in advance. Please allow extra time for travel on the day.
Resident Access Passes
Residents requiring vehicle access to properties located within the road closure areas will need a Resident Access Pass.
Please note that passes will only be issued to properties located within the affected areas identified on the official Resident Access Plan.
Collecting a Resident Access Pass
Resident Access Passes can be collected from the Leyburn Town Council Office:
- Wednesday 2 September, 9.00am to 1.00pm
- Thursday 3 September, 9.00am to 1.00pm
- Friday 4 September, 9.00am to 1.00pm
When applying, residents will need to:
- Provide proof of their residential address within an eligible property in the affected area.
- Present identification showing their address.
- Provide the registration number and details of the vehicle requiring access.
Passes must be displayed and shown to event stewards on request.
Please be aware that possession of a Resident Access Pass does not guarantee unrestricted access at all times. Access will remain subject to event safety requirements, steward instructions and road closure restrictions.
Information Point in Market Place
Leyburn Town Council representatives will be available in Market Place on Friday 4 September from 3.30pm to 6.00pm to assist residents with any questions relating to the event.

Resident Parking
Residents are strongly encouraged to plan ahead if they expect to need their vehicle during the event.
Dedicated resident parking will be available at:
- Golden Lion Car Park (limited spaces available)
- Grove Square
- The Wensleydale School
Spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Where possible, residents are encouraged to relocate vehicles before road closures come into effect.
