Leyburn Town Council regrets to announce the closure of the Kelberdale public toilets from the 1st March 2025t. This decision follows a thorough feasibility study, which assessed increasing running costs, ongoing vandalism—particularly damage to the pay doors—and the financial sustainability of the facility.
For several years, the Town Council has endeavoured to maintain these toilets, despite rising repair and maintenance expenses. However, due to escalating costs and the availability of alternative public toilet facilities at Railway Street, we have made the difficult decision to close the Kelberdale toilets permanently.
We appreciate the community’s understanding and encourage residents and visitors to use the facilities on Railway Street.
