Weddings at Thornborough Hall
Why not hold your ceremony at Thornborough Hall?
Thornborough Hall is an attractive venue to hold your civil wedding ceremony. The Hall is located near to the town centre of Leyburn, a small, but lively, market town in Wensleydale in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales.
The building is set in its own grounds with a large lawn to the front which is bordered by mature trees and bushes.
The main entrance to the building faces south and is flanked by stone pillars. The building and the grounds offer many opportunities for photographs.
A short walk from the Hall there is also Leyburn Shawl, with panoramic views across Wensleydale which may appeal to photographers seeking a dramatic setting. Thornborough Hall is an impressive Victorian sandstone building dating from the 1830s. It has been tastefully refurbished throughout and weddings take place in the beautifully restored ground floor period room. This room is licensed for 65 guests seated. Furniture, background music and silk flowers are provided and are included in the charge. You may of course arrange to have fresh flowers placed in the room at your own expense and there is a florist in the town.
There are several attractive areas which could be used for serving post-ceremony drinks. On the ground floor are good toilet facilities and a W.C for people with disabilities.
There are parking facilities at the Hall and ample additional parking spaces within easy walking distance.
You are very welcome to visit the Hall on any weekday morning (Saturdays by arrangement) to have a look at all the facilities offered. The staff will happily discuss your requirements and give you the contact details for the Registrar with whom you must also check availability for your chosen date. The room hire fee does not include the Registrar’s fees.
